The laminated glass is made by combining two or more sheets of glass panes with a special laminating film. (For example, 33.1 glass consists of two 3mm glass panes and one laminating film; 44.2 glass consists of two 4mm glass panes and two laminating films.) Laminated glass does not break apart when broken down, and at the point of impact it has just cracks.
The table shows types of laminated glass and examples of applications.
Glass tempering is a process of thermal treatment to make glass panel stronger. Tempered glass is safe, because after breaking it shatters into small fragments instead of needles. Tempered glass is marked with ESG symbol.
Ultimate thermal performance thanks to TGI warm edge spacer bar
TGI-Spacer is at the heart of energy saving windows. Warm edge spacer bars insulate the edges of an energy efficient sealed unit. They keep the panes of glass apart and maintain the integrity of the air gap that insulates a building from heat loss through windows. Warm edge spacers guarantee a pleasant climate and save energy, while keeping the clean aesthetics of your door or window unit. The TGI-Spacer is classified as a “warm edge” product in accordance with EN ISO 10077-6:2012.
